Nikheel is an MPhil Scholar with Project Halo whose research explores why the benefits of blue carbon markets so rarely reach the coastal communities who steward these ecosystems. Drawing on fieldwork experience across the Pacific, his work combines systems analysis with comparative governance to identify what it would take to make blue carbon crediting work for ecosystems and for people across the Indo-Pacific.
