Tom is a post-doctoral researcher within Project Halo, focusing on the interactions between mangrove ecology and the environment to optimise the design of nature-based solutions. Tom’s research involves the development of a numerical tool for simulating mangrove growth and mortality across all lifecycle stages. Supported with field data, this research aims to improve the success of mangrove restoration and address critical societal challenges. Tom is looking forward to seeing the application of the team’s research to on-ground restoration activities.
