Project Halo attends World Water Week in Stockholm, Sweden

Project Halo recognised as a Gold Standard project at World Water Week 2025.

In August 2025, Assoc Professor Andrew Dansie, Dr Isoa Korovulavula, and Prof Will Glamore attended the World Water Week in Stockholm, Sweden. Project Halo was officially recognised as a ‘gold standard’ project at World Water Week. The conference theme “Water for Climate Action” closely aligned with Project Halo’s focus on nature-based solution, employing water-related strategies to mitigate climate change, enhance blue carbon sequestration, and increase biodiversity.

The Project Halo session opened with an introduction to the project’s vision and objectives, followed by online video presentations by numerous research students. The Halo PhD candidates provided a brief summary of their Fijian research campaign including their aims for the next 3.5 years.

The conference also included valuable networking and learning opportunities, including visits to the Australia High Commission in Sweden and an enthralling discussion at the Kenyan Embassy.

World Water Week 2025 offered a global platform to showcase how Pacific led research and collaboration can drive sustainable water and climate action. Keep an eye out for Project Halo at upcoming international conferences as the team continues to share progress on innovative, community-driven approaches to coastal and climate resilience.
